South Knoxville

WelcomeSoKnox2 Quirky and Quaint, this section of Knoxville has seen a rise in popularity in the last few years. Spurred on by the low cost of housing, proximity to downtown, desirable retro|vintage  architecture, and the urban forest. More and more hipsters who don’t want to live downtown are calling the south side home…

Some of my favorite places on the south side are;

KaysKay’s Ice Cream – a long time Knoxville favorite, natives wax nostalgic about Kay’s beloved signs and old school charm.

Sally'sAlley Sally’s Alley – Locally owned, this little tucked away boutique has become a favorite of UT coeds and fashionistas everywhere.

Side Street Market – This eclectic menagerie of wot-nots and curiosities to fill your home is located on the corner of Chapman Hwy and Colonial. It is only open about 10 days a month, so be sure to make note of the schedule and check it out!  Side street market south knox   BayouBay

Bayou Bay – Go to their Mardi Gras celebration but great all year ’round.

Confectionistas kitchenThe Confectionista’s Kitchen– Owned by Knoxville’s own Emily Herndon, this WEALTH of all things trivia (she was a winning contestant on Jepardy), and is as snarky as her cake pops are sweet!

Ye Olde Steakhouse

Ye Old Steak House – $7 burgers on Monday (currently). Greatest steak all the time…

Urban Wilderness – Mountain Bikers, hikers, and overall natureUrban wilderness lovers rejoice!
